When you cook dry beans and then freeze them, how do you use them after freezing? For example, I have some garbanzo beans in the freezer that I cooked a while ago. Now when I want to pull some out of the freezer to make hummus, how do I do it?

Thaw them out, then use as you normally would. You can thaw quickly in the microwave.

add a small amount of water to a pot, dump the frozen beans in and thaw them out/reheat them over low heat. don't put too much water, though, it will make the beans soggy. it will probably take about 30-45 minutes though. my mom does this all the time with a wide variety of beans. i don't know how to make hummus because i'm not a fan of it. but i'm sure you know what to do after thawing the beans.

You take them out of the freezer, defrost them, and cook them in a frying pan to warm them up. You add a little seasoning and YaLa! its done
