When I was in high school, we had a lot of those parties at my house.

Big sub sandwiches are great. Relatively healthy and not too expensive. If you get a deli platter get a few types of sandwiches, some without meat, for variety. Or buy the fixings and set them out yourself for a make your own buffet.

Bottles of water, juice, snapple, soda, etc on ice are easy to carry around and harder to spill.

Brownies, cookies, etc. for dessert.

Add a variety of fun chips and some veggies and a few dips and you have a party.

Here's my favorite punch recipe (you may need to double it)

Glorious Party Punch

1 (3-ounce) package cherry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 (6-ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
3 cups cold water
1 quart cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
24 Ice cubes (2 trays)
1 (12-ounce) bottle ginger ale, chilled
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in lemonade. Add cold water and cranberry juice. Place ice cubes into a large punch bowl; pour punch over ice. Add the ginger-ale and serve.
Serves 6

When i was in high school, our musical cast parties were always at a local Mexican restaurant (Chi Chi's----used to be a chain, closed near us, don't know if it's still around other places). Anyway, they served several kinds of appetizers buffet style. We also had sodas. Everyone had plenty to eat, and everyone had to pay about 10$ to get in. We also had someone playing music, so everyone just hung out, ate, and danced. It was a blast!

well for little appetizers you could have celery sticks, cucumbers, tomatoes, chips, stuff like that.

for the finger kind of foods: little mini subs, with all different kinds of meat and cheese (since some kids are picky) maybe mini pizzas, like bagel bites. You could also make english muffin pizzas which are SOOOO GOOOD!!! You just substitute crust for little individual english muffins, and bake them! they are great for all ages and for pizza lovers!!! You could also have homemade meatballs. I know it might sound kinda weird, but meatballs are great for little snacks. They could even make meatball subs if they wanted!!!

dessert: brownies, cupcakes, mini chocolates, cookies, mini snack bars, ice cream, etc. The chocolate fountains that you can rent are AWESOME!! you can dip strawberries, and any kind of fruit in them. Its a healthy food, with a little more "sweet flavor" added to them!! one of my friends had one at her parites, and it was a big hit!!!

drinks: fruit punch!!! juices, sodas, water, virgin margaritas, shirley temples with little umbrellas and cherries, gatorade, powerade, anything you want!!!

good luck!

How about chili and rolls. You could also serve a meat and cheese platter or have veggies and dip.
