High blood pressure affects any organ that is vascular or has a high blood content. It affects the small vessels, arteries, and veins because the pressure is altered. It can cause heart attacks, kidney failure, liver failure, peripheral vascular disease, strokes, ocular / eyes, and diabetes. There are many problems that can result because of high blood pressure like head aches, shortness of breath, fatigue, tiring out easily, swelling in the extremities. The key to treatment is to remember to take your medications everyday and not to stop just because you start feeling better.

The most common are stroke and kidney damage. Also, hardening of the arteries and changes to the heart muscle. Damage to any part of the circulatory system including leakage in the eyes and aortic aneurism (which can be fatal). Kidney damage has to be considered as a cause, too. As the kidneys weaken, blood pressure rises to try to force them to filter more. Sort of counterproductive since that causes more damage. Blood pressure needs to be held down and diet changed in order to preserve remaining kidney function. It's one of those "no salt" situations.
High blood pressure does not cause diabetes, it's the other way around. Diabetes can cause high blood pressure. Also, high blood pressure doesn't cause cancer. Let's be reasonable here, folks.

The reason this is of great concern is that if you are a young person and have high blood pressure for a sustained number of years you cause irreparable damage to your arteries near the heart, your heart valves themselves, and other vital organs including your kidneys. Most older people have long recognized they have high blood pressure and are treating it. However, for many it is too late and damage has been done to the heart and arteries and even vital organs. As a result of neglecting high blood pressure for many years an individuals life span is shortened. In many cases its made unbearable for the individual and his or her family due to a heart attack or stroke. One simply doest live a full life that one could with high blood pressure. Early death, loss of quality of life and a burden on ones family are the result of years of negligence of high blood pressure

Heart disease, stroke, heart attack, mini strokes. You shouldn't worry about it if its under control. When u worry it will rise.If u have high blood pressure, don't let no one scare u up about it.I have blood pressur problems also for 3 years now.And I'm very young,I'm in my early 20's also I deal with people who has it. The only time these things occur unless u are not seeing someone about it and it gets really out of control.

Having a consistently high blood pressure can cause a stroke and other cardiovascular problems. If the person has diabetes, it can be quite dangerous to have uncontrolled high blood pressure, as well.

it also causes ankle swellings in some and it you have a high blood pressure for a long time, you arteries adjust to it so that, when you lower your blood pressure to normal, you get dizzy and stuff. (no blood flowing to small vessels.)

First of all, just because you don't know something, it does not mean you are stupid. You can get diabetes, cancer, stroke, heart attack.
Go easier on yourself, you sound like you're intelligent, except when you refer to yourself as stupid.
