Ooh, I'm an 80's child myself.
Appetizer: cajun shrimp
Salad: set up a salad bar and have people serve themselves
Entree: Some pasta dish with pesto. Or fajitas.
Dessert: Key lime pie
Alcoholic drink: Long Island Iced tea. Or wine spritzers.
ALL very eighties.
Decorate with tropical or neon colors. Rock posters. etc.
Wear preppy clothes. Or go goth and wear all black. Or go "Dynasty" and wear power suits and shoulder pads.
Have a gnarly time, dude.

How fun, I didn't think of that, but then I thought I was a total dork in the 80's. You are so lucky because leg warmers are totally(I'm getting back into the spirit) coming back in style and you can find them in most tween/teen shops. Rubber bracelets were popular, I saw a whole slew of them at Walmart the other day. Leggings are everywhere, as well as those long tunic shirts, wide belts and mini skirts, all 80's appropriate. I would watch the movies The Wedding Singer, 13 going on 30, and Napoleon Dynamite for inspiration. Don't forget your sideways ponytails...As to Decorations, smurfs, care bears, Strawberry Shortcake and ET were all huge themes. Me and my friends made this huge poster after the Breakfast Club came out, and we all posed like they did for the movie trailer. I was the princess, complete with faux diamond stud earrings. You could get all kinds of 80's tracks by going to a walmart type store, they carry cd's that have specifically 80's songs, so fun. As for food, I'll relate my teen faves from the 80's and maybe they'll inspire. Chicken enchiladas were big, tacos, pizza hut. They came out with Capri sun drinks and I went nuts. Dacquiris were hot, especially strawberry, but stay away from jungle juice! Any kind of oreo dessert was popular at that time, and M& M monster cookies! Also loved those Jello pudding pops, and nachos with jalepenos were the bomb. Bubble yum and chick o sticks, hot tamales and milky ways. If you have a copy of the book "The Valley Girls Guide to Life", then you're set! Have fun with your party!
