ok, ive been throwing super bowl parties all my life!
First of all you need chips and dips. Get a variety, some potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips...and have some salsa, ranch dip, french onio and some kind of nacho cheese or queso type. You can buy these already made or you can make them yourself.
Pigs in a blanket. Always a hit at my house! Buy a pack of lil smokeys, and two rolls of pillsbury cressants. Open up the cressants and cut each one in half or in thirds depending on how far you want them to go. Then simply roll up a lil smokey into the dough. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at about 350 till they are done. just keep an eye on em so they dont burn.
Hot wings are always a favorite. Just buy a bag of frozen hot wings and maybe an extra bottle of hot wing sauce and bake em! Have some ranch and blue cheese for dipping.
Veggie trays are always nice to have. You can create on yourself or pick on up at the store premade!
Sandwiches! Buy some big cressants from the bakery section of the supermarket. Create a meat/cheese tray with a little variety and also have some lettuce, onions, tomatoes on a tray as well. Some mayo and a few different mustards and let your guests put together their own sandwich! This is soooo easy and soooo good!
Have some sweet treats too...cookies or brownies or cupcakes work well. Make em or pick those up too.
And, if it all seems too overwelming, do a pot luck and have everyone bring a dish! The most important thing is to have fun with it! You dont have to know how to cook for the super bowl, you just have to know how to EAT! Good luck!

No, I still believe that Super Bowl XXV, between the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills was the best Super Bowl ever played. That one was most memorable for Norwood's wide right. The New York Giants would win their 2nd Super Bowl Championship in 5 seasons on Scott Norwood's missed field goal at the end of the game. This would end up being the first of 4 consecutive Super Bowl losses for the Bills.

Some easy foods:
Pizza. .. but not the traditional pizza you think of. Take some pizza dough, roll it out into a long shape (the length of your cookie sheet) and about 6-7 inches wide. Top it with cheese, pepperoni. Bake until golden. Cut into little bite size squares. Serve with warmed pizza sauce on the side.
Another idea.. those little cocktail weiners. Buy a couple packs of those, and throw them in a crock pot with a bottle of BBQ sauce. Let them simmer for a couple hours before the party. Serve with a shot glass beside the crock pot full of toothpicks, with an empty bowl beside it for the used ones.
Hope this helps! Enjoy!

If you're not a huge fan of cooking, you could always have something catered, pick up a deli tray, or order pizzas, but a better idea would be to stick with a theme. An example would be going with all Mexican and making a seven layer dip tray, bean dip, guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, chips and cheese dip, rice, etc . . . Mexican food is surprisingly easy to make, and it always tastes good!

Velveeta Cheese cut in small squares with sausage and rotel in a crockpot is super easy and always good. Also try this recipe for meatballs... 2 bags of Armor meatballs (original, not italian style)
2 cans (or one of the big cans) of cream of chicken soup 1 16 oz container of sour cream
Heat the meatballs a little in the oven, then throw them in a crock pot with the other two ingredients. You'll love them...they're unbelievably good
Good Luck!

How many people? I'd just make a big pot of chili, some cornbread (you can use the mixes), a big green salad and have some munchies. For munchies, you could have chips and dip, chips and salsa (all store-bought), some cheese balls with crackers (again, store-bought), or get some Velveeta and melt it with salsa and serve with Dorito chips. Dessert can be brownies, again, store-bought if you want.
Relax, and have fun.

Another thing you might want to serve is a veggie platter. It's cheaper if you do it yourself. I always buy the baby carrots, 2 colours of bell peppers, celery, cauliflower, cucumber and baby tomato's. Serve it with ranch dressing.
You can always prepare subs if you don't want to worry about hot food. You can buy a long french stick or long sub buns and stuff it with meat, lettuce, sub sauce...whatever you like and then cut them up into small sizes.
If I think of more I'll add...

chili is always good and pretty easy, just brown some chopmeat, add some onions, beans, tomato sause and spices and you're good to go. Have some chips, dips, wings (Tyson makes good frozen ones you just pop in the oven), and beverages.
