I've eaten Octopus countless times, and I've liked it every time. It can be very tender, but more often than not it is a bit chewy. It's good hot, cold, cooked, and raw. Yummy!

If octopus is chewy it is overcooked. The taste is mild and briny. More than anything, octopus is more of a texture. I probably eat it 8x or more a year.

I love it. I think the best way is fried. Octopus is called Calamari in Italian. It is also good cooked in oil and garlic over linguni.
If is is chewy, it hasn't been prepared properly, was old or frozen.

I have. It was in a seafood cream sauce over pasta. My dinner companion didn't like it, but I got to pick it out of their dish. As long as you can get over looking at the little suckers on the tentacles, just close your eyes and enjoy the flavor.

If you call it calamari and eat the tiny ones, it is delish.
Go to Bucca del Bepo and order their fried calamari appetizer. Wow! Yum!
I ordered it by accident when I was 10 or 11, and loved it.
Was it surprising when I found all them devil fish in my pasta!

Almost anything is good if prepared right. Snake, gator, oppossum, armadillo, bear, snails even pine bores. Be open minded cause when the infrastructure of America falls shortly you will be scrounging !

I've had it a couple times. I don't hate it - it doesn't have a real strong taste but it can get rubbery very easily. Kinda like squid.
