have had a nasty chest infection am asthmatic and occasionally suffer from panic attacks/anxiety. once or twice i've had paplitations as result of my asthma triggering a panic attack, but never anything really serious. Twice in the last week when ive felt wheezy enough to use my home nebuliser, ive ended up panicing and hyperventilating till i've lost concious and had to be taken to hospital. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What are the chances of it happening again now i'm on the right anti biotics (hopefully) and been given oral steroids for the chest infection?
the hospital didn't tell me much at all.

Princess, the first time it happened, I had lost conciousness befotre we reallyrealised what was going on. The paramedics had to tube me and give oxygen to get me breathing on my own properly again.
The second time it happened my partner had already callede the ambulance for the asthma attack i was having. I started to hyperventilate badly again in front of them , they just gave me oxygen n tried to get me to calm down. i lost conciouness again!

Keep a paper bag handy blow into it & push the air back in the mouth, if you cant blow into the bag, get someone else to then you breathe in there air.!!! It does work.!!!
Surprised your Dr hasnt told you this,!!!

Yeh, breath into and from a paper bag. This helps increase your blood Carbon Dioxide levels, which need raising during hyperventilation.

Stay as calm as you can. I know, I've paniced like mad with some asthma attacks.
