Do you get tested for STD's every 6 months?
(which people that have sex should do)
It is possible to have an STD and not have any symptoms so one or both of you could of had it for a while and not known it. Since you didn't give the name of the medicine, can't tell you what it's used to treat. And with yeast infections it can be passed between partners so doctors normally treat both.Just to be on the safe side... go get tested.

Before you freak out, it sounds like it may be a yeast infection which is NOT an STD. The same thing happened to me and when I told my BF he freaked out because he thought I was telling him I had an STD. yeast infections can be common in women, esp those that are sexually active. The doctor wants you to take the medication as well as her because a yeast infection can be passed through sexual contact and you both may be passing it back and forth to each other. If it is a cream, have her insert it before sex so you both get the effects of it and it gets inside her really good. Have fun!

It sounds like she got tested for a STD, and it came out positive, If you 2 are sexually active, you are most likely also infected, so you both will require medication. I recommend you go get tested for STDs to confirm.

Take it if you have ever been with her and get tested ASAP. Sounds like time to have a heart to heart on how who got what and how.
