The advices are good. But let me explain why a person snores. The person who snores is the most relaxed person while sleeping. It's not his or her fault that he/she snores. The person snores because he/she has worked hard during the day. When he/she sleeps that's the time for that person to relax. I sleep with my nephew who snores a lot, but because I love him so much his snoring has become music to me. I even stay up just listening to him snore. Yes, instead of thinking that snoring is a noise or a disturbance, why don't we think of snoring as the music of someone we love?

Look for a likely cause....overweight, enlarged tonsils or adenoids, septal defect (crooked nose cartilage), Best to be evaluated by a pediatric ear nose throat specialist, it could be a sign of other problems....(my wife can sympathize, I snore like a freight train) good luck....riff

talk to his parents, he may need to see a ear-nose-throat specialist, like my son did. He had to have his tonsils out and adnoids out. No more snoring here. But ear plugs seem to sound ok for now.

he might suffer from Adenoid Hypertrophy
you can check that by putting on of your fingers opposit to his airways openings if you didn't feel the air coming out from one of the openigns then for sure he has it.
but it usually shrinks with the time he grows up, and if not then you have to wait untill he is 18 to remove it,unless it is affecting his life, his immune system( frequent adenoiditis) and bothers him so it may be removed as soon as possible.

You could try Breathe Right Nasal Strips.......they open nasal passages for more airflow. They have no medications in them, unless you get the mentholated ones.
Hope this helps,
