Pneumonia is a progressive illness, not caused by any particular virus or bacteria. As such, someone with pneumonia may pass on a virus or bacteria to someone else that could develop into a sore throat, cough, cold, or some sinus/bronchial issue.. something else not necessarily pneumonia. Pneumonia would develop depending on the degree of infection and susceptibility in the person's own lungs. So yes, it is possible to pass on, but not very easily.

Pneumonia is either a bacterial or viral infection deep in the lungs and yes it can be contagious through coughing. When a person coughs, they spread small droplets through the air.

Absolutely not, it's not like tuberculosis or anything. The only thing is kids and elderly people are more vulnerable to it. Just make sure the person involved is getting medication, staying warm a lot and drinking a lot of water (not too much cold stuff though, not good)

Yes. It is normally caused by a virus or bacteria, if you are close to a person that has it you can potentially pick up the bug. Keep some distance, wash your hands.
