Health food stores can be great sources... although some carry more in the way of vitamins. Most grocery stores tend to have a wide variety by now. Many vegan "meats" and "cheeses" can be found near the produce section. Others are in the freezer section.

If none of this is really doing it for you, you can always order the stuff that is not regular fruits, veggies, grains, beans, tofu and rice (found at every grocery store on the planet) on the Internet

Have foods, snacks, health and beauty products, and even fake wool coats delivered to your very own home.

Here is a list of foods you wouldn't necessarily think are vegan, but are

Check each product just to be sure though. I am not sure how often it gets updated. When I read it, it said wonderbread was vegan, but since then, they have added whey to the bread.

In the produce section of any grocery store.

It's not about any particular place, though. It's just about reading labels. You'll be very surprised at how many processed foods of various types are vegan, but just because they're vegan doesn't necessarily mean that they're healthy. Look at the labels for both, or just buy whole foods and cook everything from scratch.

Another person mentioned Yves products. However, Yves has a whole line of products that include dairy, and because even the stuff that doesn't contain dairy goes throught the same production line, their stuff is no longer considered vegan.

Health Food Stores & in the Summer & Fall
Farmers Markets.. ask for Vegan Foods and Vegan grown veggies.. A Vegan vegetable isn't fertilized with animal manure..rather it be fertilized with Compost made with Clover & similar plants also may contain mushroom in it!
Ask the seller in the Health Food Store where the Vegan foods are!

You didn't say what place you come from, so I would suggest visiting the website VegDining.com, which has a list of vegan grocery stores and shops, or at least those which have vegan food in stock.

Congratulations for being vegan! It's one thing I hope to evolve to in the near future (been vegetarian for three years).

Good luck and enjoy your shopping!

Health food stores - unfortunatly they tend to be more expensive than anywhere else. My local Sainsbury's carrys quite a few things that I was shocked were vegan !! It doesn't sell any vegan pates or cheese substitutes and is lacking in meat substitues for vegans they only do realeat veggie mince (I like that) but no vegan sausages etc !!

dealer Joes! Im not particular in the journey that they have one via you yet in the journey that they do, which have tremendous vegan/vegetarian dishes at an extremely low value. As for dairy substitutions, Soy Dream is outstanding icecream and fully vegan and that i have quite considered vegan cheese at massive Eagles and Hienens before. There are a good number of butter substitutes also.. best of success!

Lillyian has a good answer but my favorite vegan on-line store is linked below. They've got a great attitude, I've gotten *really* good service from them and where else are you going to find a "I love hunting accidents" T-shirt?
