No, It's red.Blood is never actually blue,
although it appears to be blue when we look at veins through skin. Blood is
always red: bright red when it is oxygenated on the arteriolar side of our
circulation, and deep red when it is not oxygenated on the venous side.

Not all the time, the blood travels through a big process to turn to red blood. It starts in the heart as blue then goes to the lungs through veins and when we breathe in air the oxygen (some of it) goes into the blood and turns red. The blood goes to the rest of our body and then through the process again. But the blood looks the closest to blue but not exactly blue. But you refer to it as blue or deoxygenated blood anyways. So long story short, depends where the blood is in your body!
Look on the web and you will find some good sites that explain it well. Good Luck!

You can answer that question by looking at the veins in your arms. Some of the veins are red and some are blue. The blue veins are heading back towards the heart to become oxygenated again. The oxygen in the blood cells has been depleted in its trip around the body. So yes, blood is blue unless it has oxygen in it.

It's not blue but more of a deep deep red. Almost a purplish color. Oxygen saturated blood is bright red and when the Oxygen has been used up and returns to the lungs for more air it takes on a very dark red.

When you see what appears to be blue blood coursing through your veins that is blood carrying high levels of oxygen to your body, the veins that appear to be red are returning blood to your heart and lungs for more oxygen. Or is it vice versa?
