Hell yeah, Africa is the origin of the soul food method of cooking, how could the food not be good.

I lived in Central Africa and learned to love the food after trying it a little. I love N. African food and most other African dishes.

The trick is to pick a good restaurant, just as you would with any other type of restaurant. Some places are greedy and charge too much for cheap ingredients; other places make the best food they can for a reasonable price.

I have found many fine African restaurants in the states and in Europe. So check out the place and be prepared to be surprised. You probably won't like the taste of everything the first time but you can develop a taste for African cooking just as you may love sushi or maybe you haven' t developped that taste (like me.)

I've never been to Africa but I have several Nigerian and Ghanian friends. I'm not keen on the Nigerian food I have tried but I like most Ghanian food. 10 years after trying Banku for the first time my sons still talk about the fun they had that evening including eating with their hands etc I particularly like a meat stew with spinach which is delicious but I can't remember the name. I would definetely take my family to a West African restaurant but I suppose you have to be careful to cater for all tastes just as Chinese restaurants do..they provide chopsticks or knives and forks..and also put a few English style dishes on the menu.

Bill should look at a map of Africa. Ethiopia is east Africa and a hell of a long way from Ghana or Nigeria. Answer to the question. Yes. When I worked at the Nigerian Embassy in Switzerland I found the meat a little dry, but it was edible. Probably not my first choice - but if someone else is paying, I'm up for it!

Absolutely. I live in South Korea at the moment and one day we found a nigerian restaurant. My friend and i were so excited to find something new to try we almost fell through the door! I still to this day have no idea what we ate as everything was completely unknown to us. We just pointed to something random and kept our fingers crossed! It was a kind of chicken dish dish with spicyish sauce and rice. Anyway it was very different and very very delicious. I want to go back very soon but its a bit of a trek from my new home!

To be honest I don't think I would by choice. When it comes to food I am pretty closed minded. I would not choose a French or German restaurant either, but I would happily choose a Chinese or Indian restaurant. Looking back it took other people to convince of their merits in the first place. If somebody said to me "come to this great Nigerian/French/Egyptian place I found" then I would probably go. I just wouldn't choose it on my own.

Yes, definitely, I like to try new tastes. Otherwise you would never know what you are missing :).
Unfortunately I have never tried such food or come across a Nigerian or Ghanaian restaurant. I have no idea what kind of cuisine they have.

I haven't tried food from Ghana and would be willing to try it. I've been to Nigerian restaurant's in nigeria and they weren't bad...I haven't seen a Nigerian restaurant in the US Here it would depend on what they served, I really dislike draw soup (made from boiled okra) and pounded yam.

I don't know...probably. I would look at the menu and see if there were things on it I wanted to eat. If it was all offal or fish I would be unlikely but if there were some unusual dishes that sounded attractive I would certainly try it. I have eaten everything all over the world such as snake, guineapig, llama, alpaca, yak, and testicles (only once mind!) If it sounds good and the price is right I would.

That would be cool. I'd like to try all of them. It's cool tasting new foods. It shows the cultures of the counties/ethnic groups. Pulse, looking back at it, I've never tasted anything(or can't remember) eating much foods with African flavor in it. I'll have to try it some time.
