Easy one! Too much fat in stool makes it float. Usually not normal.

The answers ahead of me that I just read are both right...density....or content of the stool makes the difference. It is true that fat laden stool is not a good thing. However, stool with alot of fiber floats and is a good thing. Color is also a possible indicator of health or a disease process. So....poop can be an important consideration....and I am a health care provider......and sometimes I ask these same questions.
