I've been having problems with regurgiation lately. Everytime I eat, during or after, I'm constantly throwing up in my mouth 3 to 5 times the food I just ate. Has anyone ever heard of this kind of symptom with a hiatal hernie??

Yes, it's possible - but hardly diagnostic. Several situations, from neurological conditions to a tumor, can cause similar symptoms. You'll need a doctor, possibly a gastroenterologist, to get a more definitive answer.

Yes your hiatal hernia can cause sternum pain (I know, I have a double sliding hiatal hernia) Yes, your cat can make it worse laying on it.... he may be laying on it trying to help you, but it really isn't helping & it can cause problems (including problems with your heart & lungs) the best way to help a hiatal hernia is the old-fashioned method of raising the head of the bed... it sucks to sleep on it like that... but, I finally made myself do it for a year & now my hernia is less than half the size it had been I avoided surgery by doing this.... surgery can help... but studies show the surgery will only work for a certain number of years & then what you end up with is actually worse than you were before surgery..... I talked to 4 different docs... and most of them agreed that in a younger patient (younger than 55) they would prefer to see the patient avoid surgery if at all possible make sure you stay on acid-reduced diet absolutely no sodas (carbonated water is fine, but none of the flavored sodas) eat raw red radishes at least 2 of them 3 times or more a week If your GERD is severe, then aspirin can be really bad for you (aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid) See if you can teach the cat to sleep tucked in under your arm instead of on your chest..... I had to do that with my cat, get my cat to change from trying to sleep on my chest to sleeping under my arm

this sounds pretty normal to me when one has the h.hernia.You have to eat just a little bit at a time..never lay flat at nite..prop yourself up. Dont drink a lot of soda or beer. You probably have GERD a condition that causes reflux the two conditions often go hand in hand.See your doc. about a diet and some acid inhibiting drugs like pariet or prevacid .these should help.

hiatus hernia could cause reflux, and occasional regurgitation. but the extent that u are describing is uncommon and should be investigated for the possibility of having a motility disorder in the esophagus or a condition called achalasia. Consult your physiciaan and i advise a bariym swallow and upper endoscopy.
