i really liked it one of the indian reataurant and know i want to cook it home.Can help me please??????
and one more how can i cook tandora (i am not sure of spelling)

Gujarati Dal
Preparation Time : 5 min.
Cooking Time :20 min.

Ingredients :
2 cups toovar dal
2 tbsp peanuts
2 kharekh (optional)

Other ingredients :
8 pieces cocum
1 tomato, chopped
50 grams jaggery
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 piece ginger, diced
4 green chillies, slit
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp haldi

For the tempering :
1/2 tsp rai
1/2 tsp jeera
1/2 tsp (methi)
10 to 12 curry leaves
2 laung
1 stick dalchini
1 tejpatta
2 small round red chillies (boriya)
pinch of hing
2 tbsp ghee
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste

For the garnish :
1 bunch chopped dhaniya


Method:
Wash and pressure cook the dal in 4 cups of water. In another vessel, pressure cook the yam, peanuts and kharekh. When the dal is cooked, cool slightly and blend till it is smooth.

Prepare the tempering by heating the oil and adding rai, jeera, methi seeds curry leaves, laung, dalchini, tejpatta, red chillies and hing.

Add 3 cups of water, cocum, tomato, jaggery, lemon juice,salt green chilli, chilli powder and turmeric powder to the and dal & simmer for 10 minutes. Garnish with dhaniya. Serve hot with phulka rotlis.

Please Note:
The longer this dal is simmered, the better it tastes.


Dal Dhokadi

Ingredients
250 grams tuver dal,
200 grams wheat flour,
3 green chilies
3 tbsp. -green chili paste
50 grams groundnut
25 grams cashewnut,
1 tbsp. Turmeric powder
1 tbsp. Mustard seeds,3-4 cloves
2 cinnamon2 tomatoes
1 tbsp. Tamarind100 grams brown sugar,
salt ,
1 tbsp. Garam masala,
1 tsp. Ajama4-5 tbsp. Oil,
2 tbsp. Red chili powder/asafetida
1 cup cilantro leaves
3-4 tbsp. Ghee.

Method
Shift wheat flour. Add salt, turmeric powder, ajama, red chili powder. Mix well. Add oil and knead the flour to roti like consistency. Wash tuver dal and pressure cook it for three whistles. Cool and remove the dal. Heat oil and ghee in a pot, then put cloves and cinnamon and then add mustard leaves. When they crackle add curry leaves, green chilies and a pinch of asafetida. Pour tover dal. Mix tamarind and brown sugar water, cashew nuts, groundnut, garam masala, red chili powder and mix well. Add tomato pulp, turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups of water. Boil the dal. roll out big rotis and cut them into pieces and add these pieces in boiling dal. Boil for 10 minutes and remove. serve warm. Sprinkle cilantro leaves.

Note: Prepare kachori of green peas or of any other vegetable or coconut and add in boiling curry.

Tandoori Chicken
Tandoori Murgh
Ingredients:

• 2 lbs chicken pieces
• 1/2” piece of ginger
• 4 garlic cloves
• 1/2 cup plain yogurt
• salt
• 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1/2 tsp garam masala
• 1/2 tsp coriander seeds, ground
• 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, ground
• lemon juice


Preparation:

Skin the chicken, and pat dry with paper towel. Make deep cuts on the surface with a knife.

Mince ginger and garlic. Transfer to a small bowl and add the spices. Mix well, then rub the paste into the chicken and let marinate serveral hours in refrigerate.

Cook chicken on grill or in broiler, basting with leftover marinade and turning for even cooking. Serve with a dash of lemon juice. Serves 4 - 6.

Gujurati Dal

Ingredients

Dal - 250 gms
Ginger, a small piece
One onion, 2 green chillies, Molasses: 100 gms.
A pinch of asafoetida, chilly powder and ghee to fry
Salt to taste and chopped coriander leaves

Method

Boil well the dal and keep aside.

Fry a tablespoon of ghee and put in the chopped ginger and chillies into a kadai. When brown, add the asafoetida and chilly powder. Mix with the dal, adding the molasses too. Eat it hot with chappathis.

Gujarati Dal Recipe

1 cup(s) split red gram (tuvar dal)
1 tomato(es) chopped finely
2 tablespoon(s) oil
1 teaspoon(s) each of mustard and cumin seeds
1 tablespoon(s) finely chopped ginger
2 green chilli(es) slit
4 cups water
4 curry leaves
½ teaspoon(s) each of asafoetida and turmeric powder
a squeeze of lemon, jaggery and salt to taste

1. Soak the split red gram in water for about an hour. Add turmeric powder, salt and a drop of oil to the gram along with the water in which it was soaked. Now, heat on medium level till it comes to a boil and then on low level for about 20 minutes or till the gram is fully cooked.
2. Heat oil in a pan till it is hot and drop in the mustard seeds followed by the cumin seeds and then asafoetida. Fry on medium level for about 2 minute(s) till the seeds splutter. Add this to the cooked red gram and let it come to a simmer.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 10 minutes.


Tandoori roti recipe

Wheat flour 2 cups
Maida 1/2 cup
Baking powder 2 tsp.
Yogurt (Curd) 1/2 cup
Milk 1/2 cup
Ghee 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Sieve wheat flour, maida and baking powder.Add salt, yogurt, milk and mix well. Add water a little at a time.Knead the dough until it turns very smooth.Set aside for atleast 1/2 hour.Divide into large balls of equal portions.Apply some flour and roll into thick oblong/circular shaped roti.Apply ghee on both sides of the roti and then bake it in a tandoor/ oven

If you don't have any experience with Indian cooking then it is very hard to make dal. But you can buy ready to eat package from Indian store and just heat it. For tandoori you can't make it you need a spacial cooking stove . "Tandoori stove".
