As a former chef and one time vegartarian, I am lost to think people are that narrow minded, especially women, I don't eat alot of meat and at one time for health reasons was a total vegatarian, and now eat more fruits vegetales, legumes and grains.

Most men have been raised to eat meat from the time they stopped bottle or other forms of nursing, and there decison to remain carnivores is like the result of having there meals prepared for them as in childhood. I make currys, veggie lasagna, stuffed peppers with TVP, Chili also with TVP and eat a large variety of fresh veg and fruit, a choice I made upon finding out I am a level 2 diabetic, but being 6'4" and 300 lbs did not help.

It is hard to generalize the reason why more women are vegatarian then men, mainly women tend to stick to diets and eating methods better, and are more prone to taking an interest in things like animal rights than men, but the crack about gays is a little underhanded, I know gay men who are non-vegatarian as well one's who are, not a choice like there sexuality it is inbreed and not learned.

I understand that you are struggling with the issue of becoming a vegetarian

Women have that instinct to be concern about others- given the role of mothers in the family. The same role why more women are nurses than men are.
We have been socialize in such a way that women are so concern about their figure than men are. We are aslo more concern about our health than men are. Men think they are rough and untouchable even as it relates to health issues. Women consider themselve vulnerable and so they will go out and protect themselves

remember women then to use a differnt side of the brain more than men do. So we do think differently but that is no excuse for you mr. not to wise up and cutr back on the steak, and keep the onion and mushroom

Why more females than males are vegan:

Because it's an easy way to lose weight...and a great way to cover up an eating disorder (I can't eat that I'm vegan...), and statistically this is largely a feminine issue.

Real vegans translate lack of animal products into their entire way of life, including clothing (no leather, "vegan" lines of make-up and clothing etc.). A self professed "vegan" wearing birkenstoks is probably just crash dieting.

Hope that helps.

someone believed the government's scam now didn't they?

read up on vegan/vegetarian statistics that actually exist instead of that 'other crap' you are being told.

thanks.

(you think beer's an entree don't you?... a night out with the miss's is swanson t.v. dinners in front of the tube watching WWF?)

someone hates women.

oh and just because i'm a vegetarian doesn't mean i'm all for animal rights.

buy a clue, they're not that expensive.. and there's a layaway plan for those who have credit.

We weren't "made" to eat meat, darlin'. There is nothing in the rules anywhere that says, "Thou shalt eat meat, or the Great God Porkchopus shall smite thee."

And after reading about higher risks of breast cancer, coronary disease, etc. that accompany a high-fat (i.e., meat) diet, I think any woman who chooses the vegetarian lifestyle is a darn sight smarter than those who stuff their faces with steak.

Maybe you want to keel over from a heart attack or see a woman that you care about going through the agonies of breast cancer, but count me out.

-Women are much more sensetive to animals and things, many would say much too sensetive, and are much more likely to react to animals being killed in a way which isn't eating them.

-Men generally don't care about the animals, it's not very manly and is seen as quite wimpish.

-Men have more sense than women! Only jokin', but you have to admit they do a lot of stuff we find odd and/or pointless.

It's because men have been given the idea by society that "manly men" eat meat, are muscly, ect.
It's like : "Grrr I'm a man watch me eat this uncooked chicken and workout at the same time".

It is generally known that females care more about their bodies and this would give rise to your question. Also women are more conscious about everything they do, so when they start thinking about what they are eating they may feel bad about eating animals or think it is gross...also girls are grossed out easier in general, so that is my opinion on the subject.

1. There's a misconception that if a man doesn't eat
animal products he will be weak.
2. Females on average are smarter than males.
Current test scores and intelligent quotients prove it.

It is less threatening. When women become vegan, people think, "Oh she cares about her body." When a man becomes vegan, people think "What a pussy."

It really threatens your image as a man to be a vegan. Long story short.
