i'm not so sure about specifics, however, if one knowingly passes a deadly disease, they can be fined and punished by law.

the issue is however, that many look at this scenerio as it takes "two". if one or the other would insist on protection, the spread of any sexually transmitted disease would not occur, or at least lessen the chances of it happening.

in the long run, if you were given an std of anykind, it is also your fault because you engaged in risky behaviour. this shows the parties involved that you weren't respecting yourself.

its a rather touchy subject in the court of law.

Not sure about STDs.
If you know that you are HIV positive or have AIDS and you have unprotected sex with someone and do not disclose this information, YOU CAN be charged. The charges may can start out to be as minor as endangerment all the way to murder depending on whether your sexual partner became infected and your intent.
Of course the charges are also determined by how diligent the local health department is and how good the attorney you hire is.
Plus each state has its own guidelines regarding public health and repercussions of passing HIV/AIDS.

I know for a fact that if you know that you have an STD or HIV/Aids and you pass it on to other people then you could get into trouble if you're caught.

absolutley. if you know you have aids, it is your responcibility to inform each and every one of your past present and future partners you have it. a friend of mine is working on a case where a 20something yr. old girl found out she had aids so she had unprotected sex with almost 500 guys and is now facing life in prison without parole!
