When I tell people I'd rather have Herpes than HPV they dont agree. I mean, I know it is very uncomfortable and unpleasant but I'd rather have itchy sore spots for a life than have or spread cancer caused by HPV.

I think I would rather have HPV. HPV is a virus, not a disease like herpes. Almost all people who are sexually active have carried the virus at some point. Most HPV is controlled by the immune system, and most people never know they've had it. There are more than 100 types of HPV but only 15 or so are associated with cancer. So in short, if you have HPV, chances are you don't have the one that causes cancer. So I would much rather take my chances then to have Herpes for which there is no cure. There is also a vaccine now available for HPV.

HPV / Herpes are way different. Most women can prevent Cancer now. The medical field is way more advanced now!

My understanding with Herpes is that you have it all of the time, it is just a matter whether the sores are open and weeping or not. Both are for life, you will always be a carrier the disease. Neither would be my choice.
