Its a really nice gamey sort of flavour, very rich. It has to be cooked perfectly, like on a hot BBQ, not too long, so its still red/pink inside. Oh yum!
Its really lean too.

Not really. Kangaroo is available at some gourmet stores and restaurants, along with crocodile and emu meat, but it's not part of our diet. It has been recommended for us to eat kangaroos as they're very low in fat and much better ecologically than sheep or beef, as they don't do as much damage to the environment. Problem is keeping the buggers in as they can jump tall fences with ease. They're currently harvested by shooting, which isn't a real efficient or clean way to slaughter.

I'm Australian. No we don't all go around clubbing & eating innocent Kangaroos off the street. I have eaten kangaroo meat before & wasn't all that impressed. Yes it is a very lean meat with extremely low fat content & high protein value. However it is stringy grain flesh , & very tough unless prepared carefully. Give me beef, lamb or chicken anyday. Although it is a great dog pet food.

i have had it before and i don't mind it all but its all about how its cooked. I guess it is considered somewhat of a delicacy because it is not that run of the mill and its not something just everyone eats. but i think it is always interesting to try new things and you never know till you do try:)
