In addition to the above, lose weight, don't smoke, don't eat gefiltefish, and avoid garlic. Exercise and eat a primarily vegetarian diet.

Once again, and no surprise, Peachy is right on. Listen to him.
We're talking about good health here as well as good hygiene. And good health comes from a balance between diet, rest, and exercise.
Many body odors can be moderated by getting more oxygen to the cells, and a great way to get more blood (and oxygen) to your peripheral areas is with the herb, fenugreek. It dilates small blood vessels. Best of luck.

I saw lots of good answers but this is in the diabetes category! Are you refering to bad smells due to diabetes? I think so and I know just what you are talking about...
Besides the other answers that apply to everyone, diabetics can have very bad odor problems b/c if our blood sugar is too high then we begin to release excess sugar in other ways. That is our body's way of trying to fix our overdose in sugar or lack of management of it! The mouth will have lots of sugar in it and the skin will sweat with sugar in it etc etc etc besides feeling super dry everywere. If this happens too often then we may develop a problem besides poor blood sugar management and the horrible things that can happen to you with that (lose your arms and feet, heart and kidney and liver and brain and eye problems are just a few). Bacteria will begin to bloom in huge amounts because they want a piece of the sugar being excreted. You may get halitosis which is CHRONIC bad breath (you can't even imagine how bad it is without smelling it, really, you don't know) and your body odor amy be extra foul.
The cure is, again, what everyone else already said AND GOOD DIABETIES MANAGEMENT. It may take awhile (like several weeks) of keeping your sugar levels under control to get back to normal but hey, you'll live longer and happier too!
