U-40 means there are 40 units in a cc rather than 100, as in U-100.

So 3 U-40 to U-100 units would be: 3 (100)/(40) = 7.5 U-100 units.

use the smaller capacity syringe. The unit lines are much smaller on the 100 cc needles.
