Yup! Protein is in everything. I get it from Whole grains (whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta), beans and legumes, and nuts for the most part. I am also lacto ovo so I do eat cheese (animal rennet free) and eggs. For example, a 3/4 oz. of cabot 50% light cheddar has 6 grams of protein.
If you dont eat eggs or dairy, whole grains and legumes are rich in protein. A serving of lentils have have much as a serving of steak.
Keep in mind though that we need alot more then protein to be healthy. Americans on average eat way too much protein. We also need vitamins, minerals, carbs, good fats etc.

you're no longer on my own with this concern - attempt to confirm precisely why you crave meat. If that is basically the sensation of being finished, possibly you're no longer eating sufficient or getting sufficient protein. try eating greater legumes and wholegrains, ideally no longer canned except you're pressed for time. i might additionally advise eating greater organic and organic ingredients, as they have hundreds of circumstances greater minerals than accepted ones. yet, if that's the flavor you're yearning, then have you ever tried having some mock meat? there are a number of eating places that serve soy hen or gluten beef.

yes, but you have to work at it. non meat protien sources come from beans, nuts, and some leafy green veggies. with all the soy based fake meats available at the supermarket these days, you can even be a lazy veggie and get enough protien.
