Having just gone to the doc myself for the same thing, I can tell you what she told me.... it is nasal drip that goes from your nose, down your throat and causes the tickle... you can try Nasanex (a prescribed drug) to stop it... or you can try an over-the-counter antihistamine that will dry it up... she suggested Claritin. Something I've found helps is a menthol-eucalyptus type cough drop... I've been using Hall's Cherry flavored ones... they suppress the cough and ease that tickle a bit. I hope you go to your doctor to get an antibiotic to help the infection that is causing the bronchitis.... it is very important for the future of your lungs to get them completely healed!!!

Mucous and phlegm draining down. It's your body's way of trying to get you to cough it out, rather than inhale it back into the lungs or swallowing it.
