Sudden onset of chest pain + dyspnea (difficulty breathing) is the hallmark presentation of a heart attack. It could also be a variety of other things, including a tear in your aorta, a pneumothorax (air between your lung and chest wall), pneumonia, or a pulmonary embolism (blood clot). These are all serious and all need immediate treatment. Even though non-fatal conditions can cause chest pain, they very rarely cause pain *and* shortness of breath.

NEVER EVER EVER ignore chest pain with shortness of breath. It warrants a call to 911 IMMEDIATELY. Then go chew an aspirin and unlock your front door so the paramedics can get in.

Chest pain with shortness of breathe is not something to ignore. Have someone drive you to urgent care or the docs office immediately. DO NOT try to drive yourself in case something happens on the way.

It could be something minor like a broken rib or it could be the start of a heart attack. I suggest getting a ride to the hospital ASAP!
Good luck!

Can be a heart attack or gas. Also it can be gall bladder stone pain. It can be anything.

Are you on medications? Phone your doctor. Any friends or relatives around who are doctors and nurses? Go bother them. They bother you for all sorts of things, so its payback time.

If there is a gaping hole with blood shooting out - then maybe you were a victim of a drive by shooting.

Otherwise - I'm not sure.
