Exercise,reduce stress,eat stuff with out salt,drink a lot of water. Believe it or not eat 3 Bananas a day. Potassium brings your blood pressure down and it also slows the heart rate as well. Well you have to go on for months,in order for u to have a stroke or a heart attack. Eat a lot of stuff with potassium just don't over do it.It will help you'll see. My blood pressure use to run 213 over 120. Now my blood pressure be 110 over 70 now. The highest 140 over 80. I know if I can do it u can. Don't let these people on here scare u up.

when it's that high, I'd say you need meds and then change your life style. thats really high!!! My husbands was that high, he's been on beta blockers for 30 years, and has never had a problem with them.
That bottom number is the pressure your heart pumps against, and chronic high pressure can enlarge your heart, amongst other things. You better either take your meds, and/or call your MD.

A lot of times pills don't even work because there are so many causes of high blood pressure and sometimes it's unknown.
Did you know breathing techniques and relaxing music is proven to lower your blood pressure?

Plus antihypertensive pills there is a NONPHARMACOLOGICAL INTERVENTION:
1-Stop smoking
2-No more fat in food
3-Sport
4-Eat fish (in a high amount)
5-Avoid stress
6-Avoid Salt
7-Becareful, if you take any medication that can make of
stimulation of systemic nerve which increase the blood pressure such as antihistaminic(for allergy), decongestant(for nose in cold)
