Yep, at a restaurant called the Banana Leaf in Australia. I had a few different types of curries, and a specific Sri Lankan dish called string hoppers, a type of noodle, they were both yum. I also had Love Cake for dessert, which was ok, very heavy. oh and a mango lassi (yoghurt drink) which was nice.

I have tried al sort of Sri Lankan food in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan food could be bit similar to the food in the Kerala region of India ( simply because it it very near Sri Lanka). You also get Tamil Food there as there is a vast majority of Tamil people from India.
The best I like was the green cashew nut curry with rice. Made me gain lot of weight :-).
Sri Lankan food could be very chilli.

when i was in Sri lanka a couple of years ago,i enjoyed the food, but don't recall anything as distinctively Sri lankan, being Indian perhaps i couldn't pick up a difference.Perhaps that is what one of the answers refers to as stinky.to each his own,an open mind helps,in all things, food included.

Yes. Fabulous. Very spicy and hot.
I can't remember the names of the dishes, but I had curries and other dishes. All I remember were string hoppers!

No but I'd really like to. I don't know if there's a place in Dallas that serves it, but if I ever find one I'll try it out.
