I think you need to reword your question. Are you asking if staying off sugar will help you control your diabetes? The answer is yes.
Don't eat sugar right out of the bag. That just makes diabetes worse.

VERY confusing post. I assume you are diabetic, that would be the reason you are on Metformin.
Of course you can't eat sugar.......in foods or out of the bag.
Come on now. You know this. Your doctor has told you.
