Food is an international commodity. We have about 8 million Tandoori restaurants in the UK, and they can't be selling to an entirely Asian clientele. We have oodles of Chinese Restaurants, selling noodles as well as other dishes(!). Italian, Greek, French, Turkish and Japanese food can be purchased and consumed in the UK with consummate ease.

Until recently, good quality restaurant food in the UK has been dominated by French cuisine. Unfortunately, British food was largely dire, because of mass supply of commodities by supermarkets and massive suppliers to the catering trade. Us Britons have now become a lot more interested in food, and whilst the proliferation of American style burger outlets is to be deplored, our major catering suppliers have improved their products immensely. Brakes and 3663 , for example, produce pies, sausages and similar standard British fare that is worth eating.

One cannot be racist towards food. There is nothing wrong with British grub - the English breakfast, especially if cooked using sausages and bacon sourced from local butchers, is excellent. The Scottish square sausage, and the Ulster soda farl, are regional adjuncts to this magnificent feast. I do have, however, over a thousand recipes for curry, and an equal amount for Indian side dishes, and, as a chef who has researched Asian cuisine thoroughly, I can tell you that there are as many variations in the techniques of Indian cooking as there are in French or Italian.

One eats what one feels like eating. Over the last 4 days, I have cooked Chili con Carne (South America); Murgh au Palak (Punjab chicken and spinach curry), Gulyas (Hungarian beef stew) and we are having Fish and Chips tonight. Tomorrow I'll be making proper German hamburgers which we will eat with saute potatoes.

The love of food can unite cultures and provide areas in which people of different ethnicities can agree. Chicken curry rules, but it shares its sovereignty with a million other dishes, on a daily basis.

How can you possibly be racist to food? The practise of attributing human characteristics to inanimate objects is not and never can be logical.
