My mom is diabetic, and we can't seem to find out if tomatoes have any carbohydrates in them. She loves them, and we would like any feedback so we know how much of them she can eat. Thanks in advance.

on a 260g can of tomato juice (no sugar added) it states for every 100g of juice there is 3.9g of carbohydrate. Thus to get 1 total unit of carb she would need to drink 500g of tomato juice. (about 2 cans)

You can extrapolate from this the amount of fresh tomatos she could try to eat.. basically I doubt she would eat that amount in one meal typically. So its not completely a free food but almost.

I eat tomatos all the time and chug back a can of juice periodically. Thus that 1 can does count as 1/2 of the total units i need to add to my count for the meal. You can try measuring out your tomatos and figure out how many grams each one is and guess how many that is.

Please get yourself and your Mom a book of food counts.
People with diabetes can eat whatever they want. It's all a matter of counting carbs, serving sizes, exercise and medication.
You can't keep asking how many carbs are in every food. You need to learn it.Plus you could have looked it up all by yourself.
You sound like a very kind child and friend to your Mother.
