I have the most god awful head cold. Can't breathe, eyes watering. I've been taking Tylenol Sinus Congestion and Pain and no help. Any one have any better suggestions. I only sleep 2 hrs at a clip while the nose drops are working. Not taking themduring the day

The decongestant pills (Tylenol with Phenylsphrine HCI) do not seem be helping at all. I have resorted to nasal decongestant drops only to get a couple hours of sleep. I do not use them during the day to reduce rebound congestion. I was hoping someone would have a suggestion of a another OTC decongestant that will allow me to breath some through the nose and releive some of the pressure. Even if it is for a few hours

Remember there are not meds to cure a head cold. The best that we can do is alleviate symptoms while time looks after the actual infection. Breathing steam with or without the eucalyptus oil is very beneficial. Sleep with the head of the bed slightly elevated. Use a decongestant pill (not the nasal decongestant drops that can cause rebound congestion which is worse than the original congestion!), drink lots of fluids to stay well hydrated.

Inhale with some eucalyptus oil and menthol over a bowl with hot, ssteamy water and a towel over your head to create a steamy atmosphere...breathe this in for at least 5 mins before bed, it will really help - blow your nose as the snot becomes looser! If you have any tea tree oil, this will clear any infection in yuor sinuses too!
Hope you are better soon!
