You might have a slight infection. Go get checked. They can do it instantly - by taking a sample & looking under a microscope. They will give you antibiotics. Ask for a prescription for a yeast infection @ the same time.

Get checked for STD's @ the same time - it could be a sign you caught one. Don't freak out tho, bacterial infections are VERY common & can be caused by wearing the wrong type of underwear.

DO NOT USE DEODORANT SPRAY OR DOUCHE - it can make it worse.

There are many different possibilities-one missing from here is a yeast infection. Could very well be an STD. One way to help with odor is to eat more yogurt with active cultures and cranberry juice. Regardless of what the medical problem is these can assist with the odor. In the interim spray deodorant can help with the odor outside of the vaginal area. They make some for the vagin but i wouldnt use them because you dont know what the problem is.

Next call the Dr so that the problem can be resolved immediately. Some STDs can cause infertility and you dont want that as you have your whole life ahead of you

I hope this helps

Yes. Umm. A fishy smell could indicate a yeast infection or bacterical vaginitis. Bacteria can grow in the vagina and produce odorous discharge. I recommend seeking some advice on antibiotics or MONISTAT with a pharmacist or doctor. Hope that that helps =)

Dear Jen,

I suggest ---

Go to the local drug store and buy some strong soap. Next go to a hobby shop or chemistry store and buy a test tube brush. Then go home and scrub out your vagina real good. Rinse and repeaet and rinse again. Lastly, squirt some rinse such as Summers' Eve in there. Maybe even mix the Summers Eve with some baking soda. This should take care of the smell.

If smell continues, you should see a doctor and explain your troubles. He may perscribe something stronger to kill any bacteria in there. Most cases like this can be solved with a little soap and water.

Thanx,

Doc Lee

That smell is very characteristic of BV, bacterial vaginitis. This is a pretty common infection, easily treated with Metronidazole. It is usually caused by an overgrowth of gardnerella bacteria, though it is sometimes caused by other bacteria. It is NOT a viral infection, and it is not considered serious.

You could have a yeast infection, bacterial vagitinitus, or worse. I would go to the gynecologist and have this checked out ASAP, especially if there is discoloration of the discharge.

Sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis? If its that, its not serious. Go to your doc and get some Antibiotics. Its nothing to do with sex or anything like that...just an inbalance in the flora down south

Boy, people can be so rude on here! Anyway, it is a virus and can be fixed easily with medicine. But you have to get it from your doctor - there is no over the counter med or natural meds to fix it. It just happens to women so don't worry about it just being you. Be sure not to drink while on this medicine, it will make you very sick. The medicine will work in about three days, but be sure to finish the entire dosage = good luck!
