"Funa!!!" I love Funa!!! (Fake Tuna)

Rehydrate 1/4 cup of dry TVP in cold pressed extra virgin olive oil and veggie broth. Flax oil is good too, but expensive. Add a serious chunk of kombu (seaweed) to the rehydration fluid to give it that "fishy" flavor.

Press out the fluid. Mix with Vegennaise, sliced celery and capers.

YUM!

Make a FUNA MELT!! Get some "Follow Your Heart" brand vegan cheddar cheese. Put your funa in a dry skillet on a low heat. Heat the funa very slowly. When almost ready, top with thinly sliced vegan cheddar. Heat just a little bit more til the cheese melts.

Plunk that puppy right down on some toast. I like hemp bread or Jewish rye for my funa melts. I also LOVE to spread the toast with Miso Mayo in Dill flavor.

stop it. you're making me hungry.

I use the crumbles in place of hamburger meat: tacos, meatloaf, chili, etc. I'm not a vegetarian, I just like the idea of cheap food, so I often mix it with an equal amount of ground beef. I think it makes the beef taste less fatty and meaty, and I can get a pound of taco filling for only a little more than the price of half a pound of meat!

I put some in spaghetti sauce, it looks like ground beef and the husband and kid have no idea it isn't. Shhhhh!

did you use to eat ground beef/turkey. mix it the same as you would for hamburgers or patties. sage, pepper, salt, Bragg's seasonings and if you use eggs use them to Bind the product if not use bread crumbs.
