Heavy fat foods make you sleepy and groggy. So less fat is important to maintain energy, but what's even more important is your eating FREQUENCY. Eat right when you wake up with a bowl of cereal or a whole grain bagel, then a small snack 2 hours later. Eat half your lunch at lunch and save the rest for your mid afternoon snack. Notice the small portion pattern developing. Then eat either an early dinner or another small snack around 5. Keep dinner light and no later than 7 pm. This helps boost your energy levels and keeps your metabolism going all day instead of peaking and falling at meals and in between.

My favorite early morning energy boost is a fresh glass of carrot juice, which I make myself from organic carrots. FYI :)

Try eating a bowl of oat bran. You can make it in microwave in 2 minutes or less. Just be careful bo put it in a bowl as it expands greatly and make a messin your mico. You can usually find it loose in any store that sells loose candies, , sugar free items etc. Itis very cheap and very healthy. Healthfood stores haveit in containers and my supermarket even carries it. IIt is very healthy, filling, and if you have any bowel problems of ANY KIND they'll disappear immedately. I add a litte milk and sugar to it just beforeI eat it. It takes a few times to get it to the texture you like. You've got to wait until it puffs up in the micro and become light and fluffy. Can cook it on the stove also.
