This is a joke right? You are confusing the animal organization and the bread? Is this to see if people are really on the up and up?

What you asked about and the name you gave is PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The controversy there is because some people are threatened by anything different or by anyone with different beliefs.

PETA is not pita. Pita is, as you say, a flat bread, most commonly associated with gyros.

PETA is People Eating Tasty Animals, and that seems to irritate vegans, vegetarians, and people against furry things.
