Or both are bad for your health? What are my options.....( I've never cooked anything w/ fish sauce before, but somebody told me that it taste better.)

well for one thing, fish sauce has many more ingredients in it instead salt. salt gives salty taste/flavour only while fish sauce gives flavor plus good aroma as well. in some cookings, if you omit fish sauce when its required, it will not taste as much as good when you add fish sauce

Fish sauce is much better because it's made of anchovy (calcium) and salt to give you the sauce. It has a flavor which will definitely make your food taste much better than just salt taste.

It is quite commonly used in Vietnamese andThai cooking where this sauce first originated.
