1.Exercise should be ruled out completely at this stage. Not only it won't do anything but it may precipitate and worsen things.

2. among all the medications that one would have been prescribed the only one that MAY cause regression of the plaques are high dosage of Statins that the treatig doctor would have prescribed.

3.Diet ,of course ,is an important part of the treatment but do not expect miracle regarding plaque regression.

With your description lacking in details eg % of blockage and length of blockage etc., I would advise you to hold on to your Cardiologist for whatever advice he would give you. HE IS IN THE BEST SITUATION TO ADVISE.

Best Wishes.

No. Once the blockage is there, it is there. Angioplasty, stents and bypass don't remove the blockages. Angioplasty presses the plaques (blockages) against the vessel walls; stents hold them there. Bypass actually puts another vessel in place to give the blood a way to get around the blockage. Medications, diet and exercise can decrease the effects of the blockages, but nothing removes them.

Remember: once you have coronary artery disease, you have it forever. We cannot cure it, we can only patch it up. You must change your lifestyle to keep it from getting worse.

changes in diet and excerise sure would help but it all depends on how bad the buildup and if your heart can handle the change in activity. you better ask your doctor before you try to run that marathon

I don't think so. Once the plaque is there you can't get rid of it.
