6 weeks ago I fell from a pine tree approx 20 foot fall. I broke my tibia plateau, fractured 3 vertabrae lumbar region, and dislocated shoulder. The surgeon put 3 screws in my tibia. 1 month later I was diagnosed with a blood clot below the knee. I enjected myself w/ lovanox for a week and now taking cumatin pills every day for the next 6 months. 8 days after being diagnosed w/ the clot, I noticed my leg was no longer swollen and was in less pain. Later that day I started having a weird breathing problem. This breathing problem remains and it has been one week. To describe it, I would say I feel myself take a normal breath but I don't feel like the breath is satisfying me? I end up with a somewhat panicky feeling. I went to the hospital. They did a cat scan, ultrasound, and a few other tests. They said they could not find any clot, my body was getting plenty of oxygen and that they don't know what is causing my breathing problem. Any advice will be very appreciated? thx!!

fist off get a 2nd opinion just to be safe bu it could be the meds you are on especially if you are on heavy pain killer but more then likely you are having little panic attracts or anxiety attack with all that you have been through and the stress of the blood clot it has you head playing games with you try to relaxes you can also go to a drug store and check your blood pressure and your oxygen intake to ease your mind utill you get a Dr apt.. good luck

I would suggest that you ask your doctor about short term sterhoids.....When I had an injury, and developed a breathing problem, the doctor prescribed them , and within 20 minutes I was able to breathe clearly again, and the prescription was only for 4 days, and it was a life saver....not addictive as you may think... check into it... good luck

It seems you are missing something... Try finding God. I'm not one of those incredibly religious people, but it might help. If that doesn't help trying to find a girl(or guy, depending on your sexuality), try playing music. When something bad happens, just tell yourself that it's okay, and ask yourself if you really want to be sad and angry right now. Most of all, think of what your thankful for. Rap music, a girlfriend, loving parents, food on the table, whatever. Know that no matter what happens, jesus loves you. Haha.

There are so many things that could be causing this. How long have you been on the Coumadin? What concerns me is that they dont know what is causing it. Have they ordered anymore tests? Is this breathing problem constant? Does anything make it worse, like sitting or lying? Do you have a cough with it? Are you coughing anything up? If you would like to talk more I would be glad to try to answer your questions, please feel free to contact me.

I would definitely get a second opinion. There is the possibility that the feeling of "unsatisfied" breaths is psychological. I'm not trying to say you're crazy or anything like that but it is possible.

I would not take "no" for an answer. Try going to a different hospital, and get a new doctor. That is a ridiculous answer from your current one. What an idiot!

go get a second opinion ; I had the feeling similar but not with all your injuries; they told me a pulled muscle told put a heating pad on my back, they were right; you have had extensive injury; better to be safe than sorry ; go see another specialist; your life isn't anything to fool around with ; good luck
