I would add something green to your menu. Some sort of salad, Ceasar Salad is really good. Also some fresh green beans tossed in a garlic and butter sauce is very good. Good luck with your meal.

I am from the south, and we always serve gravy over our rice ,and as a side dish I would fix Brocoli Casserole, you can get that recipe online by typing in Brocoli casserole into your Browser. Rice is a Starch and if you fix a meat you are gonna need a vegetable of some kind. You will know what kinda vegetable you prefer, and if you don't know how to make it, again go to your Browser and type the name in it. I have gotten alot of good recipes that way, you can also do the same for your dessert. But one of my favorites, is Banana Split cake, it is so yummy. Good Luck

I would suggest a vegetable side dish that has color, and/or a nice tossed green salad. Don't chose another carbohydrate, it is too filling, and the vegetable will balance the entree. As for the dessert, make it simple and light, such as sherbet ice cream and light wafer cookies.

for a side you should do
sesame green beans
This is my interpretation of the green beans from my favorite Japanese restaurant You can omit the miso paste if you choose
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon miso paste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
DIRECTIONS
Place the green beans into a steamer insert and set in a pot over one inch of water. Bring to a boil, cover and steam for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and transfer beans to a serving bowl.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, miso paste, red pepper flakes, garlic and ginger. Pour over the green beans and toss to coat. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Toasting sesame seeds

Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add sesame seeds and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant and lightly toasted.

And for a dessert i suggest

caramal apple nut crunch
Satisfy your sweet tooth with this delectable treat
INGREDIENTS
1 Granny Smith Apple, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon fat-free caramel topping
1 tablespoon chopped roasted peanuts (or any nut of your choice)
3 Quaker® Apple Cinnamon Rice Cakes
DIRECTIONS
Arrange thin apple slices on Apple Cinnamon Large Rice Cake.
Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of fat-free caramel topping.
Sprinkle each Quaker Apple Cinnamon Rice Cake with 1 teaspoon of roasted chopped peanuts.

If your side dish has rice, instead of putting meat in it, mix it with some red beans or black-eyed peas and some spices... mmmmm.. tasty.

With rice and meat i would have normal salad with peppers, carrot, and apple just for a bit of sweetness which gives you carbs, protein and vitamins all on one plate.
