It is the vitamin B-12 family you are needing. There is one that you cannot get unless you have a big juicy steak. Hey, I like my carrot juice and my chicken! Metamucil is nasty to me! Join up with a quality organization that you can get a discount on the cadilac of herbs/vitamins for the best in purity and potency and organic product. (Nature's Sunshine is a suggestion. My friends in Roger's Arkansas, The Herb Nook) I prefer to take a complete fiber that I don't have to taste (encapsulated). Their Greenzone is the best drink powder supplement I ever took from any company if you prefer a powdered drink. They even have vegan supplements that avoid the gelatin capsules. Also, there's the sublingual liquid B-12. Try the link and they can help you out. My friend is a gold mine of information and has a web site as well so you could order on-line and have it in the mail shortly. Remember, vegans still need parasite cleanses too from all those organically grown vegetables and cereals! Good health to you!

Sit down and talk with your mom. She needs to learn it's your life-your body. Educate her-find links. She's probably just worried you're going to die without meat (a constant, common misconception. If we were going to die without meat,I'd surely be dead after almost 5 years of being a vegetarian, you know?).

If it comes to it,REFUSE to eat anything with meat in it. Worst comes to worst, you're sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night to horde food in your room. She'll come around one way or the other, hopefully. If not? That's her choice. You've already made yours, and you've made a good one.

As for supplements? Talk to a nutritionalist if you can-they can help you out more than most people, and they'll probably be able to tell you -exactly- what you need.

OK first of all, Vitamin B12 is abundant in eggs AND dairy products. There is nothing you can't get from a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet. If you were vegan, you would need a B-12 pill but that's it. Tell your mom to not force you to eat what you don't want to eat. Eat lots of pulses (legumes/beans),and nuts.

Well no one can make you eat meat, days where all my father brought home was something I couldn't eat. I refrained from eating it and drank water or just went to bed. Eat broccoli, it has equal amount of protein as meat. So DO NOT EAT ANYMORE MEAT! Stay veggie babe!!!!

You can get all these faux meats that have a huge amount of proteins and other necessary elements in them. They are extremely healthy. I used a brand called Yves and they have faux chicken strips, beef strips, veggie dogs, sausages, ground beef...pretty much everything. It's so easy to just switch these faux meets in my favorite recipes!
