I girl I know insists on me to become vegetarian.
But I think I should plan all my diet... so boring... On the other hand I'll respect animals' life, but... aren't plants also alive??

Vegetarians can get all the nutrients they need in their diet by eating a well-balanced menu of vegetables, grains, legumes, etc. Vegetarians also eat dairy products and some eat eggs.

Vegans do not eat dairy products or eggs. Some experts recommend that vegans take a dietary supplement to provide them with B12 and omegas which are difficult to obtain on a vegan diet.

Kids are both grown, and neither is a vegetarian. My husband isn't, either.

Being a vegetarian is a commitment, a calling, if you will. Tell your girlfriend to back off.

That said, there's some great recipes out there, and as far as supplements, watch it with the B-12. You can get that in most multi vitamins.

B12 and amino acids. Both of which are found in meat. B12 years ago I was advised was in the soil and our vegetables received it from the earth, but after years of NON organic gardening and mass production ...chemicals and what not....we have lost that. B12 can easily be replaced by taking a vitamin every day. Talk to your primary care physician about what would work for YOUR body as a vegetarian source of amino acids.

Vitamin B12 is IMPOSSIBLE to get in a vegan diet.

A lacto-ovo vegetarian diet when done properly (which it seldom is) can provide all the nutrients that a human needs.

(Vegetarians eat more than just vegetables.)

plants are alive, but they do not have nervous systems, so therefore cannot feel pain. and of course you cant just survive off of veggies, but that is why we eat grains, rice, legumes, beans, fruits, soy and nuts as well. no one can survive with just one food group, but you can survive with out animals.

oh and to poutine, we can get b12 from kidney beans and vitamins. if you eat a balanced diet, we have no deficiencies.
