I am trying to get the surgery, how do I go about it?

If you are on the Oregon Health Plan then you know that not all procedures are covered by this plan. The same is true of private insurance plans - each one is different in what they do or do not cover. If your weight is a problem however, call the administrators of the plan and ask them what weight loss procedures they do cover.

look into the banding procedure. It's a lot less invasive and a lot less to go wrong than the full-on gastric bypass sx.
