Thrush usually refers to a yeast infection of the mouth or nipples (usually a woman's during breast feeding). But yes an itchy groin is most commonly A yeast infection usually called jock itch in that region. It could be body lice in that region (crabs), but probally not. Try using Lotriman cream (clotrimazole generic name) twice a day or Lamisil (more expensive) once a day. It will take 5-7 days to clear but keep applying for an additional 3-4 days to prevent it from returning. You will know if it is working within 1-2 days as the itch will subside by then. If not look for other causes (like I said bugs are more rare).

Thrush is a growth of the fungus candida. It would not only be itchy but it would also produce a white discharge. Males can get thrush or yeast infection but only if their immune system is comprimised somehow (HIV, immunosuppressed, asplenic, etc). If you have just an itchy croch I bet its Tinea (fungal Jock Itch). Grab some over the counter antifugals specialized for it and you'll be set in a few weeks.

What you are describing is a yeast infection which can affect any area of the body that is warm and moist such as inside the mouth, in the genital area, under the breasts, under a stomach "overhang", or in sweaty sox. You need a nystatin type drug which can be purchased OTC or the stronger ones need a prescription. Gently cleanse area and pat dry. Use the antifungal drug and keep the area clean and dry. It can affect both men and women and can be stubborn to completely get rid of. It can be known as jock itch or athlete's foot also, depending upon the area which is affected. In the mouth it is thrush. If a person is very prone to yeast infections they should avoid mushrooms and yeast breads. A long term use of steroids can also cause this.

Thrush is a form of yeast infection in your mouth.. Most commonly thrush is a side effect of an antibiotic and there is a rinse you can get by RX only called Nystatin. The cream form of this medication is for vaginal yeast, while the liquid form is for rinsing of the mouth. Men can get thrush in their mouth as well as women, and men can get a yeast infection on their penis. While these are both types of yeast they are in 2 different locations.

Thrush is not an SDT.. the symptoms of thrush are .. redness, itching, pain, sometimes a white discharge and can be internal or external only... if you are worried you might have an STD you must see your doctor for tests.. thrush is treated simply with creams, suppositories and even oral tablets now .. everyone can get thrush .. men, women, babies .. it is not a sexual disease.

yes....but thrush affects inside the body, so you wouldn't be itchy from thrush in your pubes or anything....thrush for women is generally internal, with itching a pain just around the entrance of the vagina. For guys, I assume it would be around the head of the penis...but people can get yeast infections, which is wat thrush is, in their butts too...and mouths....so treat it now [over the counter creams, or go to the doc if u r not sure it is thrush]
