For the same reason people eat oysters, even tho it might look unappetizing, it does taste wonderful

If you think custard looks bad, you should take a look at the custard apple. The "flesh" of the fruit looks almost like vomit - but it taste divine.
By the way i think custard tastes delicious - hot or cold / on its own or on a pie / home made or out of the can MMMMMMMMMMMM!

Because it is a tasty treat. Custard is creamy,sweet and filling. Plus there are so many different kinds of custard. From custard based dessert sauces to creme brulee, to frosen custard.

Well, its one of those old fashioned comfort foods sort of things. Plus, its quite nutritious and easy to digest, unless you're lactose intollerant and then you might as well be eating sulfuric acid! Mostly, its because we sometimes crave something sweet, creamy, and filling. And, by the way, did you know that most ALL ice creams are made from a custard base?

Because it is so meltingly creamy and delicious with a great mouth-feel. One of the great comfort foods. It reminds many people of their grandmothers' cooking. I love vanilla custard, banana, butterscotch....yum, I am getting hungry.

I don't. I hate the flavor, and it feels like a jiggly blob of snot in your mouth. Eeuuww!
However, many people enjoy the flavor and texure. Different strokes for different folks.
Why do most people like beer? I've always hated it, it's bitter. Ah, but I enjoy the bitterness of dark chocolate, the bitterness adds to the quality and depth of the flavor. However, some people don't like this bitterness.

because it tastes good, dumbo! it is very creamy, sweet vanilla pudding, just a little firmer.
