I've seen a few questions where people are asking if a certain beer, wine or liquor is vegan, so what would make it non-vegan? I never knew that animal products were used in the process of making some alcoholic beverages. Can someone please enlighten me?

" Many traditional British beers use isinglass for clarifying, which is usually decanted after the brewing process; they may also use gelatin or casein. Some also use animal products, such as glycerin, to control foam consistency.

Sadly, we can put the debate over Guinness to rest. Information obtained by Satya reveals that—it’s true—Guinness stouts are not vegetarian. They’re not “full of fish guts” as some rumors suggest, but they use isinglass for fining. "

--Several beers do use fish parts for filtering their beers.
Also, many red wines use eggs.

:)

But do not fear, most beers are mostly vegan. Some vegans can argue that rats die in the huge vats, but the brewers do not actually put the rats there.

Also, some vegans boycott Budweiser/ Larose because they promote bull riding and own Seaworld.

Hope this helped

Proper cider (as made in the West Country of England) will often be brewed with animal carcasses (usually rats) in the vat.

As far as I know there is no meat in alcohol, so I don't know what the heck they are talking about. Unless they are confusing vegan with organic which are two totally different things.
