Yes, very important. It can help close a loop of infection with the clinic following up when they go for a check up. Like we all shout this out in the street? Being told doesn't may you feel too good about yourself but if we're grown-up enough to get it, we should be mature enough to get rid of it properly.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

Defiantly need to tell them. My ex was kind enough to tell me he had something & there was a chance I too could have it. I will be for ever greatful to him or I could have become infertille if problems had developed. It may be difficult for you now but in the long run you will be glad you told them

.Yes little gem, you must tell them for their own protection and to stop them from spreading Herpes or whatever you may have with others. You should also get on some sort of preventative medication to help stop the spread of your disease. For Herpes Acyclovir is cheap and affordable. Acyclovir is used to treat herpes infections of the skin, lip, and genitals; herpes zoster (shingles); and chickenpox. It does not cure herpes infections but decreases pain and itching and promotes healing. Sometimes acyclovir is given to help prevent the infection from coming back.

No why bother, get your self sorted. Or tell everyone who you caught the STD from that will teach them to be more responsible toward you. Remember you come first so forget the others

You really need to tell them. I doubt they will react well but they do deserve to know. And they probably wont be telling anyone else about it if they have it too.

Yes, tell them. They probably won't tell anyone, as that would mean admitting they may have one too.

You have to tell them! What if they have it and they give it to someone else?! Wouldn't you feel bad if you could have prevented it?
