No. There are no natural remedies or prescriptions that will do any of those things. Don't you think if there were something like that, that EVERYONE would know about them? Of course. I'm sorry, there isn't. Believe me, if you just lose weight, your blood sugar is going to come down naturally. And that will really help.

Insulin Resistance,Your Blood Sugars must be high, and exercise must have been cut way down. Follow your diet your Doctor prescribed and stick to it. Start exercising again!Lower Blood sugars with Exercise for Type 2 and keep on it until you see a result. Ask your Doctor if a DNA Insulin would benefit you most and keep asking until he has an answer. Insulin Resistance is rare. I have not heard of any herbs that would help,...if out there let us know and you'll be the first on the Block to confirm it.

RE:
Is there an herb for insulin resistance?
I have PCOS and insulin resistance. Are there any herbs which can help me lose weight, reduce low blood sugar episodes and carb cravings? I am taking metformin already.

Here's a little different take on the subject of diabetes--
There are many things you can do to overcome type II diabetes, and improve life as a Type I diabetic. I've been researching alternative medicine, and the amount of help that's available to diabetics is amazing.
Natural remedies are quite effective, and include:
Cinnamon
Bitter Melon
Gymnema Sylvestre
Nopal cactus
American Ginseng
Fenugreek
Chromium picolinate
If you are serious about learning how to use these herbs and not falling victim to diabetes needlessly, I suggest getting a copy of--
"One Son's Quest for the Cause and Cure of Diabetes", ISBN 7890766313
The author, a doctor, lost his mother to diabetes and spent the next 20 years finding a way to overcome it. My brother was dying of diabetes, and I was just starting to need insulin when we came across this definitive work which was first availale in February 2005. We both lead mostly normal lives now. It's a life saver, and the best money you'll ever spend on the subject.
You might want to check Abe Books, Alibri's, or Amazon.com for a good used copy cheap. I bought mine new, and I think it was about $35. I don't get any money from anybody for telling you this--just want to help, and the techniques in this book is what made the difference for me and mine. Best of luck.

Diet and exercise is the best for insulin resistance. Metformin is great for PCOS as well. No herbs I have heard of.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

Is there a single herb? No.
But a diet suited for a diabetic will be greatly helpful to you to stabilize your blood glucose levels, lose weight and get rid of your carb cravings.

i have pcos too! and i am taking the same mdication that you are. actually i just got done talking to my son's dietian as well he has type one diabedes! as you known what we are taking is related to what type 2 diabetic have and maybe or enentually over time we might become a diabetic but it is not certain. but i had my forst episode about 2 weeks ago and it was not from eating breakfast but as soon as i ate i felt better but still drained. thankfully that has not happened again but i asked the deitian what you just asked here and this is what she told me. eat your 3 meals a day, make sure that with all meals that you have protein to prevent your sugars from going low, and if you are still getting lows even though you are eating like you should. she said to contact your doctor. and more than likely you are getting cravings b/c your sugars are not stablized. and just wondering does this med. make you feel sick? i am up to 2 pills and i feel like i have the flu every now and again and she said that is noraml as well. but for those of you who are out there saying that there is no herb needs to do more reserch!! CINNAMON! read the back it says that ir helps the body metabolize sugars and it works. it may not work for all ppl but it does work! my doctor said that i could try it but he does not hightly recommend it and i know ppl to where it has helped their sugars. please e-mail me! it is nice to know that i am not alone and i have a lot of imformation about this and it would be nice to have a friend if that is ok, but i have cravings too!

See http://www.glycostory.com/mannalive... to see how people whith type 1 and 2 were able to produce their own insulin naturally because they were able to "wake up" the body's natural ability to defy aging and create wellness on a cellular level through what is "missing" in our modern diets.
Instructions: Click on the "stories" tab and look up diabetes.
