Yes, it is too dangerous in my opinion. Condoms are not 100% foolproof. AIDS is such an awful disease, i can't imagine anyone with it loking back on their life and saying, 'it was worth it for that one night stand on holiday'. It's your life but i would advise you not to do it. Plus sleeping around gives off such a bad image of westerners to local people.

If you are still determined, buy condoms in this country. If you buy them aboad they may have been damaged by heat or be past their expiry date, and be practically useless.

You should be screwing around in the first place, especially not without a condom. Although Africa has a high rate of Aids, that does not mean you are safe when you screw around in another continent without protection.

And to that chick who uses the denegratory words of "wont be sleeping aorund with natives": Aids is everywhere and it does not look at skin colour, you stupid!

Visit an Aids clinic, if yu are interested. Or an orphanage, and you will see what a devastating effect Aids has.

Another reason why you should wear a condom: not only to protect others. You dont want to leave a HIV trail behind while travelling Africa.

Well, I think that you need to make sure you are using a condom all the time, but If you decide to have sex in Africa the definatly. You can also get a female condom which is more expensive but gives both of you a lot more pleasure. Don't be fooled by the whole "I'm HIV negative" ploy or "I'm a virgin so I don't have it" story. Female circumcision is common in Africa and can make a woman seem tighter than normal.

"Sleeping around" promiscuously is dangerous whereever in the world you are, but of course the risk is even higher in areas with high infection rates.

Condoms are essential, but never forget they are not 100% effective. Being sensible about sexual activity and showing some intelligence and restraint are still needed. That 14% "average" doesn't help much since if you pick up an infected partner you automatically convert to 100% risk. Another promiscuous person might even have more than one strain of the virus plus a few other nasty little surprise bonus diseases.

If you have sex with a condom, you should be protected, but don't forget, they're not 100% accurate and levels of HIV are through the roof in Africa, so you need to decide whether you're prepared to take that risk for a quick thrill.

Yep - definitely.

If you are going to screw around though, make sure you wear a johnny (condom), but remember even a condom isn't 100%

14% isn't an accurate figure, not everybody will be registered, many people won't even know they have AIDS or HIV - or any other STD for that matter

I lived with brother who had HIV/AIDS for 10 years and it under no circumstances replaced something. sure, actual fluids are a splash scarier, yet i could take often occurring precautions with all of us's physique fluids.... no longer in user-friendly terms HIV/AIDS sufferers. All that being reported, i do no longer think of you will get an precise representation of this interior the well being section. maximum folk lurking around right here answering questions have a minimum of a reasonable history interior the scientific field, or are a minimum of interested in it and for this reason maximum probable knowledgeable concerning to the ailment. i could attempt posting it in society and custom someplace, or possibly the teen section in case you're nonetheless in severe college. i think of you're able to get a bigger representation of the traditional inhabitants.

Its in an incurable disease, do you really want to gamble with your life. You should always be careful who you sleep with as anyone could have it anywhere in the world. And as you said the population of people with aids in these country's are so high you have an even bigger chance of catching the disease. If you are going to have sex don't even think about it with out protection.

You sound slightly irresponsible and immature even asking a question like that. If you want to have random sex with strangers, then don't be surprised what happens to you. No one can know if they will be the one that contracts something, but if you ain't playin' the roulette wheel you're not going to lose. Be a little more judicious and don't be so controlled by your genitals.

YES! In general, the prevalence of AIDS and other sexually-transmitted diseases makes it inadvisable to sleep around, no matter where you are! If you can't abstain, please use caution and practice safe-sex.

It doesn't matter whether you're in a First World or Third World country, the advice still holds true.
