I know that Humalog 75/25 is a mix. time delay or something, but what is the difference with just Humalog? can it be taken in the same way as the Mix? Does it need to be mixed with something in order to take?

Humalog 75/25 means that 75% of the mixture is long-acting insulin (same insulin except it has protamine added to make it act over an extended period of time), and 25% is short-acting.
Mixtures like this help keep tighter control of blood sugars because it sort of covers all bases - the quick coverage for your next meal (if you take it right before you eat) and the longer, steadier coverage to last all day.

Insulin Lispro protamine suspension is an intermediate insulin, it kicks in slowly in two hours and rises steadily to a peak in about 9 hours and then declines steadily till it's gone in about 18 hours. It's usually used as a basal insulin and provides for your basic metabolic rate. Both Lispro and humalog are fast insulins, also known as regular insulins, they start to work anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour, comes to a peak in about an hour or two and lasts for about four hours, they are injected before meals. It could be that your humalog injections wasn't covering your meals, perhaps you were eating lower glycemic index foods that stretch the glucose out, many people think lower glycemic index foods are good for diabetics but for a diabetic taking bolus insulin, they could mean using a mix. rDNA means that it's made by putting human genes into a bacteria or yeast cell. You should ask your Doctor to explain basal, bolus, extended bolus and total daily dose to you. The intermediate insulins are safer than the regular insulins as they release more slowly.
