There is no simple open up and serve Italian food. All italian food that is good needs to be prepared. Italians have a love affair with food, there is no simple way, but if you are in love with food you make love with it. Although you could try a pepperoni and cheese platter with Italian bread, Tomato and hardbolied eggs with olive oil and vinegar sprinkled with basil, always add the italian bread with any recipe .Have fun with this and good luck

Mama Mia-- did you forget the Italian pie- pizza? Quick and easy means
already prepared in Italian. Did you think of garlic bread?
If you have a large troop, you might want to bake or buy a few loaves of
Italian or french bread-- (any pre made frozen bread after covered with
margarine to thaw will pull into long loaves, let rise at least 3 hours, and bake 25 min.) split and cover with butter melted with garlic.
Maybe square thick pizza in the freezers at the grocers with an Italian name??
Di Giorno, Mama mia's, ect.

Since they're too young for the Zin tasting party, you might try dipping breads into various flavored olive oils (healthier habit than butter), and ending the evening with Italian style ice creams, like a gelato or sorbetto...
No cooking required!

Do some Tomato , Basil and Mozzerella salads.
Chop the tomatos so they are in circles, lay them on the plate,
Get some fresh basil rip it up and throw on the plate. Then tear your mozzarell aball up and throw on the plate. Drips of olive oil all over and season with salt and pepper.
That will take all of 5 mins.
It may be a bit far for really young kids , but if you have teenagers they might fancy trying a bit of it.
It is really nice and refreshing.

Prosciutto Purses
1 medium cantaloupe (about 3 pounds)
1 medium honeydew (about 3 pounds)
1 1/2 pounds thinly sliced prosciutto (about 36 slices)
2 bunches fresh chives, blanch 36 and save remaining for garnish
Working with 1 melon at a time, cut in 1/2. Gently scrape out seeds and membrane and discard. Using a melon baller, scoop out rounds from flesh and place in large bowl. Discard skin.
Keep the prosciutto loosely covered with plastic wrap to prevent them from drying out as you start to assemble 1 purse at a time. Place 1 melon ball in the center of a prosciutto slice, gather all sides to the top and secure with a blanched chive. It may be necessary to overlap a few pieces of prosciutto in order to completely wrap the melon ball. Place finished purse, seam side down onto a baking sheet and keep covered. Repeat with remaining prosciutto and melons. Can make it only up to 2 hours ahead of time because the salt in the prosciutto will break down the melon.
Scatter the chives onto a decorative platter. Place prosciutto purses on top and serve.

Easy! Buy a tin of Amaretti biscuits, the kids will love them. You can also get cheese straws and bread sticks from any good delicatessant. Good idea re. dipping bread into flavoured olive oil, delicious!

buy Italian bread, cut it, toast it , put some bruschetta on it that you can either make or buy prepared from Costco or B-J's.
If you want to make it (bruschetta), you get some ripe tomatoes on the vine, chop them up, add fresh or powdered garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, grated cheese.
